Ruth Jacobs is a writer, broadcaster and campaigner. She lives a quiet life in a village in Hertfordshire, England, which is quite a contrast from her teens and early twenties spent rather waywardly in London. 'Soul Destruction: Unforgivable' is Ruth's début novel, and is the first in a series exposing the dark world and harsh reality of life as a drug addicted call girl. The story follows Shelley Hansard, a heroin addicted and crack psychotic London call girl, who gets the opportunity to take revenge on a client who raped her and her friends. The main storyline is based loosely on events from Ruth's life. In addition to fiction writing, Ruth is also involved in non-fiction, journalism and broadcasting, primarily for charity and human rights campaigning in the areas of sex workers' rights, anti-sexual exploitation and anti-human trafficking. For BBC1 she has researched and presented documentaries on the policing of prostitution in the UK. Articles she's written have been published on Women News Network, The F-Word, Ms. Magazine Blog and Bitch magazine among others. She also writes a blog on the Huffington Post. Currently, Ruth's involved in the campaign calling for the Merseyside hate crime model of policing prostitution to be made law.
